This one of a kind casserole/baking dish/serving dish by hand from black Canadian clay. It is embossed with an abstract design which is accented with white glaze. It is a beautiful dish and would be ideal for serving veggies or hot dips or for side dishes.
This black clay derives its dark colour from a high iron content and as a result, the clay heats up very well and retains heat for a surprising amount of time. It is oven proof and dishwasher safe but caution should be used with the microwave as it will heat up much like metal (no sparks but the dish will become heated as if it was in a conventional oven). This is fantastic if you want something to stay hot (such as a dip) but ensure you treat it like something from the oven when you use it in the microwave (use an oven mitt).
