This handmade vessel is made from a black clay from Canada. The vase/dish was handformed embossed with a canvas texture then hand painted with in vibrant colours which are very striking against the black clay. I applied a clear foodsafe glaze on the interior. This is a footed vase and is a beautiful and elegant art piece.

It can be used as an Ikebana container or would make a beautiful serving dish.

After hand forming and painting the vase, it was fired in my kiln to a temperature of over 2100f so it is both durable and beautiful.

*A kenzan (spiky frog) is not included with this vase but I can supply a very high quality 2 inch Japanese made kenzan for an additional cost of $17 Canadian if you send me a message. We can discuss by message if you are interested in this option.
