This handmade dish is an Ikebana style vase. Ikebana is a type of Japanese flower arranging that has been popular since the 7th century.
This handmade vase is made from clay from Canada. The vase was formed on my potters wheel. It has been glazed with a blue glaze which breaks into brown and is a unique and beautiful piece of art.
It was fired in my kiln to a temperature of over 2100f so it is both durable and beautiful.
*A kenzan (spiky frog) is not included with this vase but I can supply a very high quality 2 inch Japanese made kenzan for an additional cost of $17 Canadian if you send me a message. We can discuss by message if you are interested in this option.
